    I think my LL journey starts here…

    My current height stands at 168 cm / around 5’6”. I aim to increase my height to 177-178 cm by extending my tibias by 9-10 cm.

    At this point, I am thinking about having this surgery done at a private clinic in Warsaw, Poland known as Trigon Orthopedia sometime after March 2024. I believe that opting for a local facility would be more practical for continuous monitoring and medical follow-ups, especially during emergencies. Additionally, Poland, being a developed country, likely maintains higher overall standards and quality compared to Turkey, India, or China. Moreover, the surgical expenses are more budget-friendly here.

    Limb lengthening using an external fixator:
    Procedure on both femurs or tibias: 25,000 PLN / $6,297.75
    Two external fixators: 32,000 PLN / $8,061.12
    The total price for surgery on both tibias sums up to 57,000 PLN / $14,358.87.

    I will arrange a meeting with Dr. Daniel Kozyra tomorrow to gather more insights about the clinic, his expertise in LL operations, and his assessment of my situation. I will keep you updated.

      could you translate the information on his website for us? i don’t see anywhere to input it in English
      additionally, you may want to reconsider a tibia lengthening of 8-9 cm, as it may be excessive. Stretching by 10 cm is indeed too much
      and it appears that the website suggests a potential increase of 10 cm if both femurs and tibias are lengthened, not just one segment

      The cost is acceptable, but the physician permits a maximum of 6 cm for limb lengthening. I visited there a few months back, and I am interested in any journal from Poland.

      Just got back from the medical appointment / examination with Dr. Kozyra.

      He approves of extending a single segment (usually tibias) by a maximum of 7 cm. There seems to be potential for more if the bones regenerate exceptionally well and the tissues allow for further stretching. However, he advises against exceeding 5 cm per segment, stating that any complications would be the patient’s responsibility.

      The surgery itself takes around 1.5 hours per limb. After the surgery, the doctor schedules weekly meetings with the patient during the lengthening phase and monthly meetings during the consolidation phase. Both phases typically last about 7-8 months, with full recovery potentially taking up to 1 year.

      As per the doctor, he has performed approximately 30 limb lengthening procedures for cosmetic purposes and numerous others to address limb length inequalities.

      It is advisable to heed your physician’s advice. If he indicates that exceeding 5cm per segment for limb lengthening is not advisable, there must be a rationale behind it.

      Perhaps, however, cosmetic limb lengthening surgery is not endorsed by any physician.

      LL is a slow and gradual procedure that requires ongoing medical monitoring by a doctor. It is assumed that when reaching 5-7 cm, a patient should be able to gauge from their body’s responses if there is potential for additional extension.

      Also, this physician employs external fixators made by Orthofix (produced in the United States).
