Sometimes you don’t want a “master plan” for farming. You just want something that works, map after map, without a spreadsheet and a 200-div build. That’s why I’ve been running this Strongbox + Mirage routine on Haunted Mansion, and it’s been steady enough that even if you’re tempted to buy poe currency, you’ll probably feel less pressure to do it because your stash actually moves in the right direction. The trick isn’t some secret tech; it’s doing the same fast loop, cleanly, and not letting yourself get dragged into side content.

Why Haunted Mansion and why Mirage

Haunted Mansion just “fits” the Mirage event. The layout is tight, the routes don’t branch into a million dead ends, and you’re not constantly backtracking for a box you missed behind a pillar. That matters more than people think. Mirage wants you to keep momentum. If your maps are taking four or five minutes because you’re clearing every room, you’re basically donating profit. Aim for under two minutes per run once you’ve got the rhythm. You’ll feel it click: find Mirage, hit the pocket of boxes, grab the good stuff, and bounce.

    Scarabs that don’t bankrupt you

You don’t need fancy, high-roll scarabs to make this print currency. Keep it simple: 1) two Amber Ambush Scarabs, 2) one Discernment, 3) one Hidden Compartments, 4) one Potency. They’re usually cheap, and that’s the point—low cost, repeatable, no drama if a map feels “meh.” In the map, you’re hunting the big three Strongboxes: Operative, Arcanist, Diviner. Everything else is optional at best. If you stop for every random chest, you’ll slow down and your hourly rate will crater.

The loop most people mess up

Here’s the clean play: rush to Mirage, then act like you’ve got somewhere to be. Open the target boxes, scoop, move. Don’t full-clear. Don’t chase rares into a hallway unless they’re literally body-blocking you. When Mirage ends, do a quick outside sweep for any obvious Arcanist/Diviner you spotted on the way in, then portal out. The loot comes from volume, not hero moments. Set a stricter filter than you’re comfortable with, and you’ll waste way less time staring at clutter.

    Atlas setup and staying efficient

On the Atlas tree, take every Strongbox and Scarab cluster you can reasonably reach, plus the nodes that help with duplication (currency and cards are the spikes that make runs feel amazing). Bulk-buy Haunted Mansion maps, roll them with a regex, and don’t “hand craft” each one like it’s a museum piece. Hideout time is the silent killer, so prep a stack and chain them. If you do want a shortcut for topping up supplies or smoothing out unlucky streaks, that’s where services like eznpc can be handy for grabbing currency or items without derailing your whole session.
