Dr Pili achieved his Medical Doctor degree with Summa cum Laude in Italy and underwent Orthopaedic Surgeon training in both Italy and the United Kingdom. His journey began as an Erasmus student in Germany at the Freie Universität of Berlin, where he recognized the significance of international training. Shortly after graduation, he registered at GMC and relocated to the UK to pursue further experience in Emergency and General Medicine in Liverpool and Rotherham. He initiated his Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology training in Newport Isle of Wight and Wakefield, to the south of Leeds, alongside esteemed surgeons.

Dr Pili later returned to Italy to finalize his training and soon went back to the UK, taking up a position in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, where he served as a Senior Registrar working with prominent surgeons in collaboration with the University of Cambridge and Martin Parker, a well-known orthopaedic surgeon distinguished for his expertise in treating hip fractures. Throughout these years, he mastered cutting-edge surgical techniques for orthopedic conditions and amassed substantial experience in handling common orthopedic disorders.

In 2011, he was selected by SIOT (Italian Society Orthopedic Traumatologists) to represent Italy in the Travelling Fellowship in London, where he compared his knowledge with leading orthopedic surgeons across Europe.

During his career, he has presented his work at various scientific congresses across Italy, Europe, South America, and the USA. His surgical training significantly benefited from working with Professor Maurizio Angelo Catagni in Lecco, Italy. As an Ilizarov Fellow, he learned the Ilizarov technique for treating complicated orthopedic conditions and gained knowledge in limb reconstruction and limb lengthening.
