5) What is your viewpoint on patient weight-bearing?
In my experience, with my patients and fixator, early weight-bearing and often without support is crucial.
6) How frequently will you check on patients during the lengthening process?
Every three weeks during the lengthening phase and monthly thereafter.
7) How soon can patients resume normal activities (walking unaided)? What is the duration needed to lengthen 5 cm and 7.5-8 cm?
After the lengthening period, for 5 cm it takes about two months and around four months for 8 cm.
