QuoteAffordable ($15.00 per night) cozy lodging is provided right at the Sinai Hospital campus at the Hackerman-Patz House to ease things for our patients. It is mandatory for patients to have an adult caregiver (relative, friend, significant other) accompany them at the Hackerman-Patz House. If relatives or friends cannot assist, this type of service can be arranged. Check out for additional details regarding the Hackerman-Patz House.
The lodging is very reasonably priced and ideally situated close to the hospital.

Do either of the Baltimore LL doctors (Assayag or Conway) perform rebreaks of the tibia? What is the cost? What if my location is approximately a 3-hour drive from Baltimore?
Thinking about having femur gnail and precise 2 tibia surgery consecutively in Greece (lower cost) before inflation increases further. This way, I would have the precise 2 nail. However, I would only aim for maybe about 2cm on the precise 2 tibia to reduce the risk associated with back-to-back surgeries. Then, I plan to do a rebreak a few years later for the precise 2 to expand from 2cm to around 5-6cm on the tibias.

Thinking about undergoing femur gnail and precise 2 tibia back to back in Greece (lower price) before inflation increases further. This would guarantee that I have the precise 2 nail. However, I would only consider maybe around 2cm on the precise 2 tibia to minimize the risk from the consecutive surgeries. Then, I would plan a rebreak a few years later for the precise 2 to increase from 2cm to about 5-6cm on the tibias.
I comprehend the desire to have tibia nails inserted affordably and subsequently reosteotomize the bones at a reputable hospital in the US. Nevertheless, I believe your optimal approach would be to have the surgery done in Greece and then return home for the lengthening process, utilizing your American insurance for doctor consultations and PT. I think it’s likely you could achieve 5 CM in the tibias in one session, perhaps even more if Assayag performs soft tissue release, so a scheduled re-osteotomy after only 2 CM might turn out to be more expensive in the long term and could be unnecessary.
