Before we initiate the discussion regarding your inquiries, I kindly request that you take note of the following.
You should be prepared for some inconveniences:
– Our Institute does not offer an official invitation and other visa assistance. You are required to obtain a tourist visa independently. The most we can do: at personal consultation, provide you with an advisory opinion (in Russian!) that you require for the procedure and indicate the anticipated duration of stay in Russia.
– The language barrier. A majority of the Russian population does not communicate in English. This holds true for the personnel of our institute, including the administrator and coordinator. All documentation is in Russian.
– The Institute does not have transfer options: from and to the airport, etc.
– The Institute does not have accommodation available.
– Generally, the Institute cannot accommodate prolonged stays (due to the high volume of patients). Maximum is 2-3 weeks. If an extended period is necessary, it must be arranged in advance (without guarantee of a positive outcome).
– It would be advisable to stay near the Institute for the entire duration of the limb lengthening or deformity correction. If a longer hospitalization period cannot be organized, you need to book a hotel or rent an apartment.
A preliminary consultation in the outpatient clinic of our Institute is mandatory! Based on this initial meeting, we will determine the feasibility and appropriateness of your hospitalization.
Please believe me—the volume of your inquiries will increase after each of my responses. Hence, after the first three answers, I always insist on an in-person consultation.
I kindly ask for your understanding that our Institute is a federal government entity. Above all, we must prioritize the treatment of Russian citizens. The Institute has a significant queue (up to 2-4 months) for hospitalization. Therefore, I recommend that you arrange a turn as soon as possible. For this, please inform me of your intent. Within three days, I will inform you of your hospitalization date. You will need to come for a consultation 3-5 days prior. I am available in the outpatient department of our Institute every Wednesday
