Thank you for the uplifting messages everyone!

Since my previous post, I have attended another meeting with Dr. Lee to assess my x-rays. I have been regularly reviewing my x-ray scans every 2 weeks, but this time it was the first x-ray taken after completing the limb lengthening phase. Based on the x-ray findings, he predicts that I should be able to commence walking approximately one month from now. In the meantime, I will continue my physical therapy sessions 5 times a week.

I omitted to mention in my previous post that my weekly physical therapy sessions consist of four 30-minute sessions with a physical therapist, as well as one (sometimes two) SwimEx sessions/Hydrotherapy sessions. I have already undergone 7 hydrotherapy sessions, and I observed a significant and drastic improvement in my walking ability in the water between session 5 and 6. Before session 5, I experienced severe knee pain and significant difficulty in walking normally due to a major duck-like posture. Moving around in the water was quite painful initially, but from the 6th session onwards, I noticed a considerable decrease in pain levels and increased muscle flexibility. It seems that all the stretching exercises are paying off!

Typically, hydrotherapy involves activities like walking on a water treadmill, practicing standing on different legs individually, and walking back and forth across the pool – essentially re-learning how to walk while my therapist identifies areas that require improvement.

I will visit Dr. Lee again in 3 weeks for my second post-lengthening x-ray review. I will keep everyone informed!
