If I plan to do the surgery, is it better to skip limb lengthening days in the gym? My limbs are one of my strong points and I am able to lift heavy loads. I’m afraid lifting heavier will result in too much muscle which could make the surgery even more painful.

Same issue here – I’m not extremely muscular, but my legs account for a significant portion of my weight. I believe it’s best not to bulk up too much muscle before undergoing limb lengthening to avoid potential muscle discomfort when lying down.

I think the contrary is true as during limb lengthening, the muscles have the potential to decrease because the legs are stretching and becoming thinner in the process. Additionally, remaining in a resting position for most of the day can contribute to muscle loss.

I think in general there is a trade-off. Increased muscle mass typically leads to enhanced blood circulation and improved bone development. However, having more muscle can also result in more difficult stretching. My legs were very strong, and I experienced superior bone growth compared to others, but I also endured more pain than most.

No idea m8 but my legs are noodles right now. And I was able to squat 130kg for reps not that long ago.

This idea also troubled me to some extent. At the moment, I only train my legs once a week and stretch three days a week. Due to genetics, my legs have never been large, but they are strong and well-defined. I truly think that if returning to lifting heavy weights like before the surgery is achievable, it will be a challenging and slow process that demands a great deal of patience and determination, similar to the experience of doing a squat for the first time in your life, starting from scratch.
