Kinda confused here. I cannot have the non-weight-bearing nail procedure because I need to go to the office once a week and can only take time off for 1 or 2 months, so precise 2 is not an option. Should I proceed with Betzbone with Becker or wait for precise max? I will probably choose a US surgeon if I opt for precise max since it will be accessible in the US first.00

It depends on your selection criteria for a surgeon. Does their experience in deformity correction matter to you?
Many individuals in this area tend to prioritize the convenience of the surgeon initially, and then rationalize their decision.00 -

No one is familiar with Precice Max. It has not been released yet.Further research on BetzBone and weight-bearing nails in general is necessary. Weight bearing does not guarantee effortless walking as if there is no injury. Walking will be challenging, especially during the process of limb lengthening.

Received information from my physician indicating that despite having a full weight-bearing rod, walking may still be impeded by pain, with femurs being more conducive to walking than tibias. Despite being rarely discussed, the availability of Precice 2 on the market for some years was a significant advantage for me. The uncertainty surrounding the perfection of Precice Max upon release raises concerns about potential unforeseen issues. Consequently, even if it becomes available, I prefer to delay my decision and give it a few years before opting for it personally.00 -

I have previously undergone femur lengthening with Precice 2, so I am familiar with the process. The period of non-weight bearing was extremely challenging for me, so I would prefer to undergo the procedure with a weight-bearing nail this time, if feasible.00 -

At least with Stryde, the surgeon mentioned that it usually takes patients between 1-2 months to discontinue the use of the wheelchair / walker. Even with a weight-bearing nail, you are not fully ambulant immediately.00
