    You may perform the other surgery a month following the initial one when your body has healed from the first one. Alternatively, you can undergo the second surgery immediately after completing the limb lengthening process of the initial segment. You could also opt to wait until the first segment has entirely consolidated. The decision will vary based on your body’s tolerance and your desire to maximize limb lengthening. I chose to have the femurs operated on a month after the tibia surgery. Perhaps waiting until the tibias had lengthened (an additional 3 weeks) would have been more beneficial. The second surgery disrupts the lengthening, recovery, and stretching of the initial segment if performed during the lengthening phase. This made it more challenging to optimize the lengthening of my tibia.
