I have been curious about LLS for some years now and have heard many different opinions in that time. My femur length is 36 cm, while my tibia is 41.5 cm, meaning my femur is pretty short in terms of proportions. That’s why I came up with the idea of adding 11 cm with Betzbone to my femur. Is it “safe”, and if not, what is the maximum height gain without the risk of permanent problems? I heard people say that 8-10 cm is already dangerous and others talking about the exact opposite.

    Thank you in advance.

      Hey Femurshorty,

I’m going t have my surgery with Dr. Becker in March 2026 and will go for 10cm as my goal. But if I can do it without health issues or looking weird, I will go for the 12cm max.

Let me know if you want to talk more about the surgery privately.

      Best of luck to you!

No. Theres a reason that Dr Paley, the man the revolutionized cosmetic/medical limb lengthening and other doctors who are professionals in that field with decades of experience only recommend 8cm maximum for femur or 6cm for tibia. 11cm is way too much and there will be guaranteed complications. The most you get barely safely for femurs is around 9cm.
