The concept that limb lengthening (LL) can completely resolve your lack of height is untrue unless you originally had a severe disproportion, which is exceptionally rare. The optimal LL candidate possesses extended torso, clavicles, neck, skull, arms, hands, and feet, yet only has shortened legs. This specific combination of body proportions is extremely uncommon, resulting in most individuals becoming disproportionate following LL. While certain individuals may be more suitable for either single or quad LL procedures, hardly anyone will achieve proportional dimensions of a “tall” person. Even those who reach your ultimate height will still appear taller due to having a more harmonious body structure for their stature. Despite gaining 6 inches in height, there will persistently be a noticeable aspect of shortness about you. If you are unconcerned about these proportions and their significance, then you are encouraged to proceed. However, it is essential to acknowledge that you will not attain the conventional appearance of tallness through LL, and if this discrepancy is unacceptable to you, it is advisable to refrain from pursuing limb lengthening.

The diversity in human body proportions is truly remarkable. What may not seem “typical” to you is actually quite common.

It is a fact that many men of shorter stature (under 5’7″) tend to have disproportionately short legs.

Here are my measurements: My sitting height corresponds to about 54% of my standing height, a figure that is 2.5 standard deviations away from the mean (around 49.5%).

By adding 5 inches, I reach 50.5%, which falls comfortably within 1 standard deviation.

As for my wingspan, it is 175, making it slightly shorter now after previously being slightly longer than my height.

How could one argue that I appear less “typical” post-limb lengthening? If anything, I resemble a more average physique; however, height remains the noticeable factor, not the alterations to my proportions.

Despite having a long torso, I don’t concern myself with proportions, and many others feel the same way, so please refrain from discussing a topic that lacks interest for many people.

      Hi everyone,
I am a man of shorter stature considering the possibility of undergoing limb lengthening surgery. Consequently, I am collaborating with a UK TV network to chronicle my experience. I am filled with a mix of excitement and nerves. I am eager to connect with individuals who have undergone this operation or are contemplating it, similar to myself. If you are interested in participating in this documentary, please contact [email protected].

You are a sad, vertically challenged individual who poses nonsensical inquiries, neglects diary reading, and utilizes this forum as a venting outlet due to financial constraints prohibiting limb lengthening surgery. Ineffectual participant

I somewhat concur that following extensive limb lengthening, your ratio could appear (slightly) unusual. Nevertheless, honestly, individuals possess various shapes and ratios, man. There exist numerous individuals who lack the most attractive body forms and ratios: catwalk models, athletes, your tall acquaintances, and so on.

Notsettlingforavg you are excessively overanalyzing this. 99% of individuals do not observe everything you mentioned, except for limb lengthening, such as height, as others have indicated, everyone has varying body shapes.

Most individuals do not undergo limb lengthening surgery to increase their height from shorter to 6 feet. Cease creating unhelpful discussions. Your threads lack any actual value, and all your inquiries have already been addressed repeatedly. While you may be concerned about proportions, the majority of people with some common sense do not aim to lengthen more than 10cm. I would criticize your “goal,” but it seems like others have already done so abundantly. You are 5’5”. If you genuinely believe you could achieve even a portion of your goal, you are extremely mistaken. I would estimate a maximum of 3 inches in total before your body gives up. You lack the sufficient size or height to progress from 5’5” to 6 feet; end of discussion.
