    Hi everyone!

In 3 weeks, I will have Femur Limb Lengthening (LL) surgery with Dr. Mustafa Uysal in Istanbul. I’m very excited about it.

I selected Dr. Uysal AFA as my choice because, after consulting several doctors, I believe their team is the best option considering various factors such as the quality of the rehabilitation center, attentive care, experienced doctor, prompt responses from the team (at least initially, I hope it continues), and the explanations provided that seem logical.
Moreover, I conducted thorough research, and all the reviews about this doctor were outstanding, unlike other alternatives I came across.
If you wish to gather more information, their website can be accessed at:

Regarding Femur Limb Lengthening, I opted for this procedure due to its cost-effectiveness and quick recovery period. I understand that it might be quite painful, but I am ready for it.

I will share updates on my experience here, hoping it can be beneficial for you. I have also set up an Instagram account where I will document the process through pictures and videos. For those interested, the account is:

      Hi

Initially, I reached out to them for information gathering purposes, and shortly after, they redirected me to Uysal. Subsequently, I delved into research about him and came across highly favorable reviews. The selection criteria remain a mystery; perhaps each doctor excels in different areas, as you hinted at.

Nonetheless, based on my findings, I believe Inan is equally experienced and competent.

Hello everyone, yesterday my surgery was successfully completed according to the doctor!!!

The AFA team brought me from the airport 2 weeks ago because I wanted to explore and enjoy Istanbul. I even grabbed a coffee with an AFA assistant who manages their WhatsApp account, a very friendly individual like all the AFA staff I have met so far. He shared more details about the surgery and limb lengthening.

2 days ago, during my consultation, the doctor examined my x-rays and mentioned that my bones are suitable for this procedure. However, he expressed concerns about my muscles being very strong yet stiff. Nonetheless, it’s not all bad news since I have been diligently stretching them almost every day for the past 3 months. The doctor indicated that I could potentially extend by 8 cm, but he will conduct further tests to ensure the condition of my soft tissues. Some indicators suggest that pushing for more length may jeopardize my physical recovery. While I am worried about not reaching the full 8cm, it demonstrates the doctor’s prioritization of my well-being. I am aware that some doctors tend to exceed safe limits for the patient.

My surgery took place yesterday, and Dr. Uysal confirmed it was a resounding success, perfectly suited for me. Interestingly, he commented on my exceptionally robust bones (whether this is advantageous remains uncertain, though I believe it is positive). Post-surgery, I returned to my room where AFA arranged for a dedicated caretaker to assist me round the clock, which is truly commendable. This arrangement eliminates the need to buzz for nurses whenever I require something. This caretaker will be with me throughout the 10-day hospital stay.

Following the surgery, I woke up in my room experiencing significant knee pain, a common post-operative occurrence as per the nursing staff. The pain later extended to my legs but lessened over time with the help of pain relief medication. While most individuals tend to snooze for the better part of the day post-surgery, regrettably, I struggled to sleep due to the discomfort. The painkillers helped alleviate some of the pain, yet I am currently finding it challenging to rest adequately, hovering between a state of half-sleep and wakefulness at 7 o’clock. Nevertheless, the paramount news is the success of the surgery, and I am eagerly looking forward to elongating my legs!

Just a quick note, I am sharing photos of my LL journey on my Instagram stories. Feel free to follow me there if you wish to see them!

Hello friend, can you tell me where are you from? How long you need to stay in Istanbul for LON femur? Also your overall experience as I have consulted many surgeons in India, none of them do LON femur. Probably because of complications, What is your thought on that?

Now I cannot recall precisely, but I believe it was around $15,000 and $20,000.

Just to update, the next two days proved to be quite challenging. Initially, I encountered an issue with my stomach, likely caused by medication, resulting in nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.

Furthermore, I commenced walking with the assistance of a device, experiencing significant pain in my left knee. Subsequent walks gradually alleviated the pain, making it less arduous, although the persistent discomfort in my left knee while walking was disconcerting. If it weren’t for the pain in my left knee, walking would be considerably easier and less painful. Additionally, I began undergoing physiotherapy sessions, which are slightly uncomfortable, yet tolerable.

In summary, the LON femur is proving to be more painful than anticipated or prepared for, but I have no regrets about my decision. Locals suggest that the initial days are the toughest, with improvements expected thereafter. Hopefully, this holds true.

But one doctor whom I was consulting referred that in Turkey they do hence I come to this forum. You mentioned you have gone through LON femur. Can you tell me your experience? How long you were there in Turkey? Where are you from? How much you gained in cm from your LON femur? And the most important as everyone discourages LON Femur, how was your experience with it?
