I reside in a relatively small town where everyone is familiar with each other. Despite my attempt to remain optimistic and discreet about this procedure, I considered undergoing a limb lengthening of only 5-7cm to potentially make it less noticeable. Realizing that it would be impossible to conceal it due to my social interactions, I ponder whether I should confidently disclose this surgery when inquired. It seems simpler to attribute it to pursuing limb lengthening (LL) for personal fulfillment rather than explaining it repeatedly upon encountering people. This contemplation has occupied my thoughts for some time. Ultimately, I am indifferent to others’ opinions as it is my life, and I subscribe to the notion of making the most of it. Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I find this situation somewhat perplexing.

Yes. Individuals in your circle will become aware. Simply be transparent. If you are unable to cope with that, then refrain from proceeding.

Do any of your associates have knowledge about your surgery? What was their response concerning it?

      Imagine these two scenarios…

One scenario involves sharing your journey of Limb Lengthening with the town. From then on, you will be known as “the person who spent a significant amount of money to increase their height.” This label will stick with you throughout your life, even years later. People will remember. After 10 years…20 years…the town will identify you as the individual who underwent Limb Lengthening surgery. During family gatherings…holidays…someone will bring it up, sparking discussions and jokes. It will remain a part of your identity!

In the other scenario, you keep your Limb Lengthening journey to yourself. Many people will notice your increased height but may not comment on it much. Some may remark, “You’ve grown taller. What’s the secret?” To this, you can casually reply that you don’t know, attributing it to a sudden growth spurt or something similar. There won’t be continuous pressure on you since there’s not much to debate about.

Most individuals are unfamiliar with this procedure, and even if they are, you can simply deny any connection. If they inquire about Limb Lengthening surgery, act puzzled as if you are unaware of such a thing. Since they cannot access your thoughts and experiences, they will likely drop the subject and accept you for your increased height.

I shared details about the operation with my inner circle. Mostly, individuals were inquisitive. However, residing in a large city means that strangers and casual acquaintances I meet will be unaware of this process. I suppose the situation would be different in a smaller town.

Most individuals in my place of origin lack awareness; many are unfamiliar with the concept of the growth plate. Even my uncle thinks individuals can increase their height until they reach 30 years old. If I ever decide to undergo limb lengthening surgery and individuals observe my increased height, I will divert their attention by responding with a simple “is it true?” to prevent further inquiries, assuming they will not probe deeper.

Gain more confidence so that you can cease worrying and pondering about the thoughts of individuals in your town regarding you. Why does it even matter what their opinions are about you? If it’s not for limb lengthening, they will discover another reason to either appreciate or disapprove of you. Refuse to be their victim and alter yourself based on their judgments of you; only individuals lacking strength do that and concern themselves with it. In the event that you undergo LL, your family will eventually learn about it, unless you opt for a minimal amount like less than 5 cm, and they will likely share this information with others. You might face mockery for being short or for having undergone limb lengthening. Personally, I would opt for the latter, as then you can confront the detractors (just kidding – resorting to violence is for individuals with lower intelligence levels).
